Animal-Assisted Therapy

Heal with the help of a four-legged co-therapist.

Sometimes, words aren’t enough to engage freely with a therapist.

That’s where my therapy dog, Benny, comes in. Benny is a gentle, intuitive Australian Shepherd who works alongside me to support people of all ages.

Animal-assisted therapy integrates a trained therapy animal into our sessions to help clients feel more at ease, open up emotionally, and connect in new ways.

People and animals can form bonds that can help reduce stress by providing a distraction and enhancing calmness. Benny is very perceptive and socially interactive in a positive way by offering comfort, helping reduce anxiety, and encouraging social skills, emotional regulation, and trust-building.

Animal-assisted therapy can make a difference.

When working with Benny as my co-therapist, you will experience a reduction in anxiety and stress in our sessions, allowing you to feel comfortable discussing the issues you want to address.

For those struggling with trust or communication issues, an animal companion helps encourage a positive connection.

If you are dealing with trauma, the animal creates a safe environment, helping you feel more grounded as you process traumatic experiences.

Animals also enhance emotional awareness through the human-animal bond and help create moments of joy, play, and unconditional acceptance. As a result, they provide comfort and improve interactions with others, making our work easier.

DogWorking with Benny can make a difference.

You don’t need to be a “dog person” to benefit. Benny respects all boundaries and moves at your pace.

Think of our work as a three-way partnership that provides emotional support as we help you overcome stress, anxiety, depression, physical challenges, and other issues that keep you from moving forward positively.

As we work together, Benny and I are available and more than willing to establish a partnership that improves therapeutic outcomes.
