Self Care--Winter is Coming Edition

And just like that, the shift happens…It’s now mid October and the days are getting shorter and the temperature is dropping. It is super important to adapt our self care habits to incorporate habits that fuel us and help us energize. One of my favorite things to do with clients is look at the things you are already doing to take care of your soul, heart, mind and body and offer a gentle reframe on how you are already an expert in your own self care! Your body knows what it needs. Do you wear similar clothes when you are busy or unable to “put yourself together,”? That is a form of giving yourself grace and doing what you need in that moment. Do you have certain foods that you enjoy when you are feeling overwhelmed? Do you take more warm baths when you are overwhelmed or upset? These are all ways that our soul, heart, body and mind are letting you know what you need. Let’s listen and see how we need to adjust our habits slightly rather than feeling like we need to recreate the wheel every time we feel a little bit, “off.”
